Ven has over 30 years’ experience in the IT field as an Analyst/Programmer developing applications for clients, producing documentation and assisting the client in understanding what they actually needed.
Ven has also mentored and trained overseas staff, and had to travel internationally and interstate to ensure that the staff were adequately trained and setup to perform the work that was required by the corporate client so as to meet their high expectations.
Ven updates his skills regularly, e.g. he recently completed two short courses at RMIT (Victoria) for building iPhone and iPad apps and completed his Certificate IV in Business (Small Business Management).
Ven currently lives in George Town, Tasmania, Australia, and was oringally born in New South Wales, and still consider myself a New South Welshman.
Ven does enjoy watching Rugby League when I get the chance, and haven’t really got into Australian Rules Football.
Ven’s employment history is as follows:-
- I am currently running my own businesses – IT Solutions And Marketing and Tassie Tiger Technologies.
- Worked for HP as an Analyst Programmer. My primary task was manage the work that my counterparts in India do, with some finding that this is bad for those workers here in Australia. However, I did try to see it as an opportunity to manage a remote work-force, while keeping the customer happy.
- Worked for Traffic Technologies as a DBA/IT Support Officer.
